Ed Mitzen

Appropriately referred to as a serial entrepreneur, Ed has built four companies, totaling over $200 million in combined revenue. The most recent, before forming FingerPaint Marketing, was Palio Communications, where his leadership and business acumen brought the agency from a local five-person shop to a multimillion-dollar company with 200 employees. Palio is now one of the largest advertising agencies in the Capital Region, with an international client roster.

Ed is a frequent lecturer on the topics of business and marketing at several top colleges and universities, including the University of Rochester and Skidmore College. He is also an active member of the local community, serving on the board of directors of various nonprofit organizations: The Hyde Collection, Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), The Double H Hole in the Wall Camps, Saratoga Care Foundation, the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs and Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital. In 2006, Ed co-founded Sackatoga Stable, a thoroughbred horse syndicate established to provide an enjoyable horse racing experience to its investors.

Always ready to meet the next challenge, Ed collaborated with Jaime Butler-Binley to launch FingerPaint Marketing in 2008. When Ed isn’t busy starting new businesses you can see him riding down Broadway on his purple Harley, “Fat Boy,” or in his 1958 lemon yellow Corvette—the only thing about Ed that even comes close to being a lemon.
